influence

mary-kate and ashley olsen have written a book called influence. while one of my friends is completely obsessed with the olsen twins (she will remain nameless), i never really thought twice about them since the days of michelle tanner. i was never really into the boho-chic style they helped become famous, but i am impressed with the success of their two high-end clothing lines, elizabeth and james, and the row. i recently read an article in the times introducing their book and giving a little further insight on who they are. im impressed with ashley and will try to look into reading the book. i love reading about successful people and what drives them, so this book seems to be right up my alley. especially since it is focused on those in the fashion industry.

here's the link to the ny times article:

and here's the link to barnes and noble, so you can read a bit about the book (short interview included on the features tab):

You should check out Malcolm Gladwell's new book, "Outliers," that'll be published this week. I have it, so you can borrow it when I'm done. I'm sure it will be a good read. He's one of my favorite authors and if you haven't read, he wrote "The Tipping Point" and "Blink," which you can also borrow.. let me know if you'd like!
